Getting to Tartu

The local airline is Estonian Air. Estonia is also serviced by Finnair, KLM, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS and other smaller airline companies.

Tartu is situated in south-east Estonia, 180km from the capital city Tallinn and 360 km from Riga, the capital of Latvia.

A shuttle bus will be provided to transport registrants between Tallinn Airport or Ulemiste Hotel and Tartu accommodation and between Tartu and Tallinn Airport.

• The shuttle bus departs Tallinn at 3:30pm on Wednesday 28 June, arriving Tartu approximately 6:15pm

• The shuttle bus departs Tartu at 8:00am on Sunday 2 July, arriving in Tallinn approximately 11:00am

If the shuttle service does not fit in with your travel plans, registrants can use one of the numerous regular buses operating between Tallinn and Tartu (more than 60 departures most days). The trip takes 2.5 hours and costs EEK75-120 (depending on time of day and bus company). Check the Bussi Reisid website for departure times and ticket prices. There is no need to make a reservation. The bus station is a short taxi ride (~2km) from the airport.

Tallinn airport is 5km east of the city. Taxis to the city centre cost around EEK50-60 and the journey takes 15 minutes.
