MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Introduction
The Master of Science in Information Technology at Murdoch University
is a professional qualification in Information Technology. It
provides you with the knowledge and expertise in this fast changing
field, and upgrades your qualification to compete successfully
in the area.
If you have a 3-year IT degree and good IT work experience:
you finish in 1 year!
The units you do are: Electronic Commerce Technologies, Data Communication
Strategies, Human Factors in IT, Multimedia Systems, Data Resources
Management, IT Project Management, Intelligent Systems, and IT
Strategy.
If you have a 3-year IT degree: you finish in 18 months!
You do some extra units: Databases, Software Architectures, Data
Communications, and Systems Analysis and Design.
You have another 3 year degree with some relevance to IT:
you finish in 2 years!
You do some extra units from our undergraduate offering first.
Doctor of I.T.
After the MSc.IT, you can continue with the professional Doctorate
in Information Technology (D.IT)-- planned for introduction in
2002. In the D.IT, you will be guided through exciting and innovative
research, and you write a thesis which makes a significant contribution
to the professional practice of Information Technology.
